Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Fortis BuildSafe Solutions (“Fortis”) intends this website to be usable by people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, reduced motion, or a high-contrast display.

Standard We Work To

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is the standard we test against; it is a target we work toward continuously rather than a certification.

What Has Been Tested

This website was audited against WCAG 2.2 Level AA on 25 August 2026. The audit produced ten findings, covering text and non-text contrast, keyboard focus visibility, touch target size, landmark and heading structure, the announcement of page changes to assistive technology, the state of interactive map controls, behaviour under operating-system forced colors, reduced-motion handling of the site’s animations, and table content on small screens. Each finding was measured and remediated.

Known Limitations

The project map on our Project Record page is an embedded Google Maps component. It is third-party content that Fortis does not build or control, and its keyboard behaviour, contrast, and screen-reader output are determined by Google. The same project information — building type, county, service performed, and outcome — is available in text alongside the map, so no content is available only through the map.

Downloadable documents, including sample reports and board packets, are PDFs. Their internal tagging and reading order are not guaranteed to meet Level AA. If you need the content of any document in another format, ask and we will provide it.

Areas of the site added or changed after the audit date above have not necessarily been audited to the same depth.

If You Hit an Access Barrier

Tell us and we will get you the information another way — by telephone, email, or a plain document — and fix the barrier itself.

Reporting a Specific Problem

Specific reports are the most useful thing we receive. If you can, tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. We will respond and tell you what we found.
