Why Fortis exists.
ortis BuildSafe Solutions was founded in February 2025 as a forensic engineering firm — to examine existing buildings, document present conditions, and give decision-makers a clear technical record of what those conditions mean.
In the years following the Surfside collapse, Florida and its coastal jurisdictions strengthened milestone, reserve-study, and recertification requirements. Fortis was built for that more accountable environment: field observations tied to evidence, recommendations tied to findings, and reports sealed by the professional engineer responsible for the work.

Gabor established the Fortis Standard to make that judgment repeatable across the firm: how evidence is gathered, how uncertainty is communicated, and how each recommendation is connected to a field condition.
